"The Hidden Talent" exhibition for March 2012 by Sonya Tatham

We are extremely delighted to announce that we will be hosting Sonya Tatham's new body of work in the Gallery throughout March. The exhibition is titled "The Hidden Talent" as we truly believe that Sonya is the hidden talent of not only Eastbourne, but also the UK art scene. Why do we believe that? Well you have to come and see the range of Sonya's work - from landscapes of local scenes and the Sussex Downs, to seed heads and nature as well as her marvellous figurative pictures and superb colour palette, to really appreciate how good she is. Sonya has a free and expressive style which means that her work is very distinctive and fresh. We would be delighted if you would join us and Sonya for a glass of wine at the Private Viewing so please call in to the Gallery or telephone us on 01323 735435 to get your personal invitation.
Featured Artists
January and February 2012
Hi Everyone! Well here's some news to cheer you through the slog of winter! We have signed some brilliant new artists all from the local area and will be showcasing their work throughout February so please do come and see their stunning work! So who are they? Well, we have GRAHAM BINKS who paints abstract landscapes and beautiful, almost surreal, pictures depicting life's journey and the big questions we all ask about the meaning of life, purpose and spirituality; MARY STUBBERFIELD who has a very distinctive style and has produced a fantastic portfolio that includes a completely new interpretation of local scenes and some limited edition of black and white lino cuts of cats which are quite beautiful in their simplicity; MARGARET TURTON with a range of very affordable quality colour prints of local scenes such as the South Downs, Holywell and Beachy Head; IMOGEN SKELLEY who has painted a range of highly collectable, unique, colourful mini pictures which will grace any room and are all priced at a hugely affordable £35 each!
In addition, we have a breath-taking display of statues from MICHELLE FINDLAY which come from her exploration and interest in the power of women and her desire to make other people question their own spirituality, gender, role and path in life. And not forgetting VICKI ATKINSON'S fun ceramic figures which have a powerful presence and just make you smile.
Come and share our joy at these wonderful creations - we are open Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm and look forward to welcoming you to the Gallery.
Featured Artist
December 2011- Frazer Wilson
We are delighted to select Frazer as our Featured artist for December as we think his pictures are not only exciting and evocative but also work that all art lovers and art investors should snap up before he sells out! Frazer lives in Eastbourne and is at an early stage in his career as a painter. This is just one of the reasons why we think he is so good! If he can produce work of this quality so early in his career, just imagine what he could be producing in years to come!
Frazer draws his inspiration from many sources particularly the Arctic wilderness of Iceland and freak weather conditions such as fog, severe storms and snow. He uses nature to feed his creative spark and sees his paintings as “snapshots of the meanderings of my imagination” and his “re-interpretation of the temporary transformative power of nature”. Many visitors have already commented how "emotionally charged" his pictures are and that he "so cleverly captures vast landscapes on such small canvases."
With his pictures currently selling at the bargain starting price of £165, in the view of Philip Perry, Artistic Director of the Francis Perry Gallery, Frazer “is an emerging talent to watch and certainly worth investing in now before the price of his work soars”.
We thoroughly recommend that you visit the Gallery to see the power of Frazer's work for yourself.

October 2011- Paul Liddiard
We were delighted when Eastbourne based Paul agreed to be our first featured artist as we are passionate about his work! He produces delightful near minature pictures in acrylic or oil of local scenes in and around Eastbourne or of his other passions - the sea and boats.
Paul grew up by the sea in Hythe, Kent and spent every spare moment of his childhood playing on the beach or watching ships through his telescope. After a career with the famous P & O shipping line and later with a well known bank, Paul devotes his time to painting. His work is keenly collected and many of his pictures are in private collections overseas. We highly recommend you come and see his latest work before it is all sold. Prices range from £110 to £195 fully framed, which make them a perfect present or investment
